Toronto Island

Toronto Island provides a beautiful setting for bicycling, rollerblading,  kayaking, swimming at one of several Blue Flag beaches, walks along the boardwalk or exploring the unique community on Wards and Algonquin Islands.

It’s also a wonderful place to visit in winter, with pristine snow, quiet walks and plenty of wildlife.  Even the ferry crossing can be an exhilarating taste of winter. When the conditions are right, there is fantastic skating and cross country skiing.

There are also a number of water taxi services if you miss a boat or need to travel after the last ferry. Call Rodney at 416.570.8004 or Ralph at 416.203.TAXI.

Toronto Island is a car free environment.  There are no stores.  A number of restaurants and cafes are open seven days a week in summer.  The Rectory Cafe is open Wednesday to Sunday in the low season.  You can visit torontoisland.org for information about the Island Cafe and community and park events and activities at Toronto Island Community.

Bicycles and quadracycles are available for rent at Centre Island near the pier.  Kayaks, rowboats and paddleboats are for hire at the Boat House, just east of the Centre Island Bridge.
